The Villa-lobos Trio

The three voices of the trio is based on a piece for percussionists who perform on flat, wooden surfaces. The placement in time and sound, as well as the actual figures performed, are perceived somewhere between music and dance. The piece is the first where gesture is as important, or even more so, as the actual pitch produced.
