A Due

for flute and guitar
composed 1985; duration 8 minutes
commissioned by Peter Schantz
world premiere Aalborg (Denmark) 1987
Karen Skriver – flute; Peter Schantz – guitar

The piece is made as a true dialogue between two personalities. As the dialogue unfolds, the fluent and easy conversation brings new topics into play, and the music moves through a wide range of expressions. The balance between the players is always maintained, and the last part makes typical use of an open notation, regulated by a clear and focused drive towards the end.
