The other night I played at Xavi’s exclusive Bar Marx. A live set with visuals was an interesting exercise in accompanying visuals, as it mostly is the other way around.
As usual, I played a longer set, and it was a good test bed for the new material I will release on Pueblo Nuevo in May. The visuals was a collection of dadaist films, including Fernand Leger’s Ballet Mecanique from 1924. Another challenge was the sound level, which had to be kept low at all times. Loud music is always better, somehow, so playing this softly swithed focus to what was happening in the music, rather than enjoying the pure physicality of the booming sound.
Next day played with adduce at Discos Paradiso, presenting the finished material for your next release, still not placed with any label. Here we had level, and the clarity of the mix helped a lot for the hall acoustics. A shorter but very muscular set which is promising for future shows – nice! Sharing the bill was fiat600 and Satchivi.
